COPE 2

The man, the myth, the legend - Cope2! He's done it all, and to this day he is still doing his thing. In my (black) book, he is the King of all Kings. He painted trains in the 80's and even 20 years later he's still out there rockin' walls (and clean trains). Not just legal walls but he still bombs to this day. And when he paints his pieces, he doesn't even draw a sketch. Hi pieces are literally straight off the dome piece!

Many feel he's the one that kept graffiti alive in the 1990's. In a time when the Mayor was doing everything in his power to stomp graffiti out he was still defying the law. Cope 2 also sent in pictures to the Source magazine to keep graffiti in the public eye. While may writers retired and hung their cans up, Cope2 was out there organizing productions. People from other countries even came to NYC to paint with Cope2.

If you haven's seen his video, do yourself a favor and watch it! This is the illest graff video of all time! Watch as he sneaks into train yards - not to do a quick throw-up and be in and out - but he actually does a piece! Watch him do an interview as transit workers look on in the background! He also goes into home depot and racks some paint.




T-kid

T-Kid has done it all and has been down with the New York graffiti since the 1970's. He sill paints not only in NYC but all over the world. He's also just arrived from a European tour to promote his new book. "The Nasty: Terrible T-Kid 170". This interview was done during this summer 2005. He was very honest and open and had some very good insights to share. It's a great interview which I know you will enjoy. This is the first in a series of interviews to come.
